Windsor is the southernmost city in Ontario and located near Detroit River, right across the city of Detroit in Michigan. The area was first inhabited by First Nations and the American Indians before it was settled in by French explorers in 1749. The city has contributed a lot to history books and had been the site of the Battle of Windsor in 1838. The Patriot War also took place in the area later that year.
Because of its historical significance, there is much to see in the city of Windsor. The oldest building in the city is the Duff-Baby House while the Francois Baby House, where Windsor’s Community Museum is located, is also worth visiting. Other places to see in the area are Caesars Windsor, Little Italy, the Art Gallery of Windsor, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Ojibway Park, Adventure Bay Water Park, the Odette Sculpture Park and the Sandwich First Baptist Church.
