The east coast area of Newfoundland in Canada is home to the Terra Nova National Park. This 400-square-kilometer park was established in 1957 and was named after the Latin equivalent of Newfoundland. The park boasts of landscapes that are typical of what you can see on the northeastern Newfoundland coasts.

Terra Nova National Park has two campgrounds that allow visitors the chance to go front country camping – Newman Sound and Malady Head. Backcountry camping in the area is also possible and there are numerous trails with varying lengths and difficulty perfect for hiking and trekking. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular activities in the park.

In the summer, the Terra Nova National Park offers several programs including nightly shows at the Evening Theatre. There is also a campfire program where one can listen to Newfoundland sounds and drink hot chocolate. Kids can also join the park’s Junior Naturalist Program.
